Foreign media: Trump's social platform Truth Social and Musk's X platform may merge

Trump's social platform Truth Social and Musk's X platform (formerly Twitter) may merge. Data show that Truth Social's revenue in the third quarter of this year was only $2.60 million, mobile end monthly active user was 698,000, and website monthly visits were 11.30 million; in comparison, X platform is expected to generate annual advertising revenue of $2 billion, monthly active user reached 70.40 million, and website monthly visits were as high as 1 billion times. Erik Nisbet, director of the Center for Communication and Public Policy at Northwestern University, said that since Mr. Musk took over, the content style of the X platform has gradually moved towards Truth Social. Both platforms are marketed as "free speech" and are mainly aimed at conservative audiences. According to the data, 57% of Truth Social users use it as a daily news source, while the X platform is 59%. Industry insiders believe that the potential merger is more commercially meaningful for Trump and can be used as his cash-out exit strategy.
