Italy plans to strengthen cryptocurrency market monitoring, fines up to 5 million euros
On June 20, Reuters quoted a draft decree reviewed by Italy that would impose hefty fines on those who manipulate the crypto asset market as part of a broader plan to step up monitoring of risks associated with the sector. The document, which will be approved by the cabinet later today, provides for fines ranging from €5,000 ($5,400) to €5 million for insider trading, illegal disclosure of inside information or market manipulation, the report said.
