Wall Street giants are buying a large amount of MicroStrategy stock
13f.info data shows that the number of institutional holders of MicroStrategy jumped from 667 to 738, reporting a total value of $15.30 billion.
Vanguard Group and Capital International Investors, the world's second-largest asset managers, each bought nearly 16 million shares of MicroStrategy in the third quarter, and their MSTR holdings grew by about 1,000 percent.
Investment banking giant Morgan Stanley bought 8 million shares, which jumped 500% in the quarter. Goldman Sachs and Bank of America bought smaller volumes (696,000 shares and 766,00 shares, respectively), but this was another purchase after the previous quarter's big buying spree. Meanwhile, State Street and Susquehanna also bought 5.30 million shares of MSTR.
It is worth noting that these holdings are relatively insignificant compared to the large holdings in these companies. For example, Vanguard holds 800 million shares of Amazon stock.
