Howard Lutnick, a cryptocurrency proponent nominated by Trump for Secretary of Commerce, has previously said he will resign from Cantor, BGC and Newmark upon Senate approval. Howard Lutnick, currently serving as Cantor's CEO, plans to hand over the company's Tether business relationship to colleagues. The candidate is said to be his son Brandon Lutnick. Brandon Lutnick, who previously interned at Tether's Swiss business unit, currently works at Cantor. During his internship in Lugano, he is said to have counted the gold bars that support Tether's $660 million gold-backed token, Tether Gold.
