Trump and Biden administration reach necessary agreement on presidential transition

On November 26 local time, US President-elect Donald Trump reached a necessary agreement with the administration of current President Joe Biden to allow Trump's transition team to coordinate with existing federal workers before his January 20 inauguration. Under the congressionally mandated agreement, transition team staff can work with federal agencies and access non-public information, while government staff are also allowed to communicate with the transition team. However, Trump refused to sign another agreement with the General Services Administration (GSA). This agreement would have given his team access to the government's secure office space and email accounts, but it would have required the president-elect to limit contributions to $5,000 and make public the list of people who have donated to his transition efforts.
