Tether will stop supporting the euro stablecoin EURT

Tether has announced that it will discontinue support for its euro stablecoin, EURT. The stablecoin issuer is urging customers holding EURT on all supported blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, and Tron, to redeem their assets by November 27, 2025. The company will no longer accept new EURT issuance requests. "Given the evolving regulatory framework surrounding stablecoins in European markets, this decision is in line with our broader strategic direction," Tether said. "We have chosen to prioritise other initiatives before establishing a more risk-averse framework that fosters innovation and provides users with the stability and protection they deserve." The company said it will shift its focus to supporting new ventures, such as Quantoz Payments' MiCA-compliant stablecoins EURQ and USDQ, which are powered by Tether's real-world asset tokenization platform, Hadron.
