Ripple's Chief Legal Officer: US Regulators Crush Crypto Industry Through Banking Regulation Policies
According to Bitcoin.com, Ripple's chief legal officer, Stuart Alderoty, recently exposed on social media the US regulator's "Operation Chokepoint 2.0" (a government-led liquidation of the cryptocurrency industry) against the crypto industry.
He pointed out that since 2021, agencies such as the Federal Reserve, the FDIC, and the OCC have pressured the crypto industry through bank regulation policies, which is similar to the regulatory approach that targeted specific industries such as gun shops in 2012. Alderoty, a former bank general counsel, said that regulators' so-called "not preventing banks from serving crypto customers" actually implies "don't even think about it."
