Biden may adjust his digital asset strategy before the Trump debate
President Biden is likely to soften his stance on cryptocurrencies in a bid to win over voters. Despite the administration's increased regulation of crypto companies, he may accept bitcoin campaign contributions as the 2024 election approaches, and has expressed willingness to work with Congress on a regulatory framework.
During his presidency, Mr. Trump attacked Bitcoin as "a castle in the air", but in December 2022 he launched an NFT series and announced that his campaign would accept cryptocurrency donations. Both Mr. Biden and Mr. Trump are courting cryptocurrency voters, mostly Generation Z and young professionals from the millennial generation.
The positions of the two candidates will face off directly for the first time in the presidential debate on June 27.
