After South Korean President Yoon Seok-yuk declared martial law and lifted it more than six hours later, the Democratic Party, the largest opposition party in South Korea, urged Yoon Seok-yuk to step down immediately and said that if he did not resign immediately, he would move forward with impeachment proceedings. According to reports, the Democratic Party issued a resolution containing the above content after calling an emergency meeting of lawmakers in the National Assembly on the same day. The declaration of emergency martial law itself is invalid and a serious constitutional unconstitutional act. "This is a serious act of civil unrest and a perfect reason for impeachment."
