Russia sentences Hydra marketing founder to life in prison
Stanislav Moiseev, the founder of the online black market and cryptocurrency mixing service Hydra, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a Russian court.
According to a statement from the Moscow Prosecutor's Office on December 2, the Moscow District Court found Moiseyev and 15 of his associates guilty of organized criminal gangs, illegal production and sale of psychotropic substances and drugs.
Sentences for 15 of Mr. Moiseyev's associates ranged from eight to 23 years. Mr. Moiseyev was also fined $38,100 (4 million rubles), while his 15 associates were ordered to pay a total of $152,400 (16 million rubles).
