Analyst: Bitcoin reserves are at odds with Trump's view of the dollar as the world's key currency
President-elect Donald Trump has promised to make the United States a global home for cryptocurrencies and even supported the idea of establishing a strategic national bitcoin reserve, although industry experts have questioned whether the latter goal is feasible.
TD Cowen analyst Jaret Seiberg wrote in a note that bitcoin reserves are at odds with Trump's "steadfast" view of the dollar as the world's key currency.
"It is likely that Trump will still promote bitcoin reserves on social media or mention it in his speech, which is not the same thing as using the significant political capital needed to make it happen," Seiberg said.
