NVIDIA will set up an artificial intelligence center in Vietnam to build up the ante market in South East Asia

As Nvidia strengthens its presence in South East Asia, the company's founder and CEO Huang Renxun has agreed to open an artificial intelligence research and development center in Vietnam. Speaking at a signing ceremony in Hanoi on Thursday, Vietnam's Minister of Planning and Investment, Nguyen Chi Dung, said the project, along with the Viettel Group data center featuring Nvidia technology, will help develop advanced artificial intelligence in the country. Nvidia will also acquire VinBrain, the artificial intelligence unit of Vingroup JSC, which is "the starting point for a major design center in the future," Huang Renxun said. According to the VinBrain website, it is a startup focused on applying artificial intelligence to the medical field. Huang Renxun did not give a valuation for VinBrain. Vingroup representatives were not immediately available for comment.
