Polygon Labs CEO: Plans to tokenize and auction a Pokémon card released in 1999
According to Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs, an original holographic fire-breathing dragon Pokémon card issued in 1999 will be tokenized through the Ethereum extension network Polygon and auctioned by collectibles platform Courtyard. It is reported that the card will be safely stored in the vault of Brink and is currently estimated to be worth up to $250,000. Marc Boiron added that this auction is not just about fire-breathing dragon cards, but also shows how blockchain can revolutionize the world of collectibles. According to a company token from Polygon Labs, they purchased the card from a well-known seller. According to market data since 2020, similar first-edition fire-breathing dragon Pokémon cards will sell for about 264,000 to 400,000 dollars.
