Bitcoin miner Riot Platforms said on Wednesday it had acquired a 12 percent stake in rival Bitfarms Ltd. according to Reuters. Riot Platforms bought about 1.50 million shares of Bitfarms on Wednesday at about $2.45 each. Riot, which said it had beneficially owned about 11.63 per cent of Bitfarms before the acquisition, said it planned to request a special shareholder meeting to add independent directors to Bitfarms' board, citing concerns about its corporate governance.
