Japanese lawmakers propose establishing a national bitcoin reserve
Satoshi Hamada, a member of the Japanese Senate, officially submitted a proposal to discuss the establishment of a national bitcoin reserve to the Diet on December 11. The proposal echoes a global trend to promote the establishment of bitcoin reserves, including similar proposals from Russia, Brazil, Poland and the United States. With bitcoin prices breaking through record highs this month, reaching $103,000, discussions on establishing a national bitcoin reserve have gained support in multiple countries. Mr. Hamada believes that bitcoin reserves can help meet global economic challenges and protect national assets.
