147th Ethereum ACDC Conference: Developers Still Finalizing Specifications for Launching Pectra Devnet 5
On December 16th, Christine Kim, Vice President of Research at Galaxy, posted a summary of the 147th Ethereum Core Developer Consensus (ACDC) conference call. This week developers are still finalizing specifications for the launch of Pectra Devnet 5; Mekong (a public Pectra Devnet based on the Pectra Devnet 4 specification), is currently running stably with no recent reports on the health of the network; EF engineer Barnabas Busa has proposed to remove the validator's ability to change the block gas limit; Additionally, developers have agreed to remove EIP 7742 from Pectra (removing the blob count coupling between CL and EL) and instead double the blob count in Pectra by changing the client's genesis configuration.
