Layer 1 blockchain Avalanche on Monday announced the launch of the Avalanche9000 upgrade, which introduces a number of new features, including improvements that make it easier to launch "subnet" blockchains and cheaper to run smart contracts. It is reported that Avalanche 9000 is the largest upgrade to the network to date. This update contains improvement proposals ACP-77 (changing the way the validator operates) and ACP-125 (reducing the base cost of Avalanche's main "C-chain" network). "This is the start of the rollout of hundreds of Avalanche L1s," the team wrote on X. "The Avalanche 9000 reduces the cost of deploying L1s by 99.9 per cent and will see an explosion of launches in the coming months as hundreds of L1s are developed on the testnet."
