Messari forecasts that Solana will experience explosive growth in 2025
Solana could be in for another strong year, according to Messari's Crypto Theses 2025 report. It notes that Solana eco-financing is $173 million in the third quarter of 2024, the highest since the second quarter of 2022. Moreover, spot SOL ETFs seem increasingly inevitable. Regulatory environments will be more accommodative, potentially fueling explosive growth fueled by institutional interest. Some analysts are even predicting that the price of SOL will reach $4,000.
Meanwhile, Firedancer client side is being deployed on the Solana mainnet this year. Firedancer, from Jump Trading, is a high-performance validator client side that optimizes transaction speed and scalability on this blockchain. The initial version will be rolled out in stages, focusing only on changes at the network layer, while subsequent versions should expand functionality and even further improve the overall performance and reliability of Solana. Full deployment of Firedancer is scheduled for 2025, which could significantly enhance client side diversity on the SOL network, hopefully increasing active levels and security as it reduces reliance on a single client side codebase. However, Messari added that the immediate impact is likely to be limited, as other client side deployments will also continue to be bottlenecked, meaning it will take time for Firedancer to unlock its full potential.
