Robinhood CEO: The issue of establishing a bitcoin reserve has been discussed within the company
Speaking on the Anthony Pompliano podcast, Robinhood chief executive Vladimir Tenev said the company had discussed holding bitcoin internally but had no plans to maintain its reserves. "We wouldn't rule it out," he said. "We haven't done it so far, we're not an investment manager."
The CEO went on to say that while Robinhood hasn't followed in the footsteps of the likes of MicroStrategy and Tesla to include bitcoin on the balance sheet, his company's share price is "already highly correlated with bitcoin in the absence that we have it in our inventory." Robinhood stock (ticker: HOOD) is up 202% this year, and bitcoin has returned 110% year-to-date.
