Cardano founder responds to foundation governance controversy: foundation has no direct connection to IOHK and Emurgo

On December 31st, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson responded to the controversy over the governance structure of the Cardano Foundation (CF), emphasizing the importance of decentralization principles and community oversight. The controversy originated from Rick McCracken, a well-known figure in the Cardano community, who questioned the foundation's leadership and transparency, arguing that there was a lack of effective community oversight. Charles Hoskinson pointed out that the foundation is not directly related to IOHK and Emurgo. The use of the Cardano Foundation's $600 million ADA treasury does not directly represent the community. In his opinion, the foundation's lack of enthusiasm for funding projects such as Catalyst could hinder the development of the ecosystem. This approach could lead to continued problems for the ecosystem in the future, especially considering that major contributors like IOHK work without proper incentives. Charles Hoskinson responded to McCracken's statement that the comments were "offensive" and "disappointing". He pointed out that IOHK did have some problems, such as the need to lay off staff during a bear market, but remained focused on the ecosystem.
