Nubit founder: The root of BTCFi's problems lies in the lack of security for Bitcoin's mainnet
Yu Feng, founder of Nubit, tweeted that many protocols in the current BTCFi ecosystem forge lock positions through offline pre-signed transactions, which does not actually lock bitcoins on the mainnet, but gives the illusion of "looking locked". Users can submit multiple pre-signed transactions with the same UTXO and have multiple protocols count them as TVL, but in fact the bitcoins are not really locked anywhere at all. This operation leads to TVL false inflation and serious trust issues.
The founder of Nubit proposed two solutions: one is to put the transaction on the chain and lock the funds through the bitcoin script address; the other is to use a zero-knowledge proof design to make the hedging transparent and safe, avoiding the risk of double spending.
