The Solana Foundation initiated the SIMD-0215 proposal, which adds a new hash, the "Accounts Lattice Hash", which uses a homomorphic hash to maintain a hash of the entire account state, both quickly updated and secure, enabling: (1) each block contains the hash of all accounts, not just those changed in that block, and (2) the removal of the Epoch Accounts Hash. If adopted, it would replace the Epoch account hash with a lattice-based approach, enabling efficient, real-time updates of account status without having to reprocess all accounts.
