Trump plans to issue a series of executive orders within hours of being sworn in
President-elect Donald Trump plans to issue a series of executive orders on immigration, energy, federal workers and regulatory reform within hours of his inauguration on January 20 in a bid to quickly and fully implement his policy approach. His planned executive orders include requiring action to tighten border crossings; authorizing the federal government to complete an unbuilt border wall; establishing a mechanism for mass deportations; and depriving sanctuary cities of federal resources until they stop providing protection to undocumented immigrants. The Trump team also intends to slash the number of federal employees and force them to return to the office by freezing government hiring.
