Ripple president: Big banks may launch "market-ready tokenized asset products" in the US this year

Ripple President Monica Long predicted that some of the world's largest banks could launch market-ready tokenized asset products in the U.S. this year. Long made the prediction today in response to a recent talk by The Scoop podcast host Frank Chaparro. The president of Ripple said that the participation of large banks in cryptocurrencies through custody will have a significant impact on the market. She shed light on how large Financial Institutions Groups have shown a strong interest in tokenization. Monica revealed that 15 of the world's 25 largest banks have already practiced running tokenization projects, indicating a strong interest in tokenization. She expects that most of these banks are likely to launch market-ready tokenized asset products in the US this year. However, she stressed that this can only happen if the US government provides clear regulations allowing banks to participate in cryptoassets.
