Data: Global cryptocurrency adoption is surging by 99% annually, with the UAE and Singapore leading the way
On January 18th, according to Coin Edition, data from Triple-A shows that cryptocurrency ownership has been widely adopted around the world, with more than 562 million people holding digital assets worldwide. The UAE leads the global cryptocurrency ownership with 25.3% ownership, followed by Singapore at 24.4%. Emerging economies are performing strongly in cryptocurrency adoption, while developed economies such as Switzerland and the United States are relatively lagging behind. The global average ownership rate is 8.3%, with 61% of holders being male, with the largest proportion of young people aged 25-34. In addition, 65% of individuals have expressed interest in paying with cryptocurrencies. The adoption rate of cryptocurrencies is growing at a compound annual growth rate of 99% per year, far exceeding the 8% of traditional payment methods.
