According to people familiar with the matter, the proposal to the Trump transition team came from people associated with Trump's participation in the Bitcoin 2024 Nashville conference, including event organizer David Bailey and Kraken's head of strategic planning, Tracy Hoyos-López. Tigran Gambaryan said it would be an honor to be asked to serve his country again and fight crypto crime under the new Trump administration. Gambaryan, who has served as Binance's head of financial crime compliance for the past two years, is a former federal agent and part of the federal government's elite panel of early crypto trackers.
