Bitcoin Virtual Machine Team Launches BitZK Service to Expand the Bitcoin Network
The Bitcoin Virtual Machine (BVM) team last week launched BitZK, a zero-knowledge proof (ZK) service designed to enhance the scalability of Bitcoin. The service allows users to create rollups and migrate applications from Ethereum to Bitcoin. BVM developer @bird2836 said this is the first instance of Bitcoin ZK rollup to appear on the mainnet, marking a major breakthrough in technology. The BitZK service, which costs at least $99 a month, has attracted early users including RWA, Chain POWD3R Blockchain, and Octopus Bridge. Launched in January 2023, BVM aims to make the Bitcoin network capable of networks such as Ethereum, leveraging Bitcoin's security and data availability to drive the development of Bitcoin scaling solutions.
