Anthony DOnofrio, a founding member of Ethereum, has issued a call for leadership changes at the Ethereum Foundation
On January 22nd, Anthony DOnofrio, a founding member of Ethereum, posted a comment article "The Ethereum Foundation has lost its way" on CoinDesk. The article called for a leadership change for the Ethereum Foundation. "To secure its future, the Ethereum Foundation must transform from a passive institution to a proactive vision enabler," he said. DOnofrio pointed out that the Ethereum Foundation is a contradiction; although it is committed to decentralization, its way of operating is centralized, with a director, a finance department, paid developers, and an inner circle; these structures, while necessary for coordination, conflict with the decentralized philosophy of Ethereum.
He noted that the Ethereum Foundation, in its current form, which aims to minimize internal and external threats, has lost its original vision. The next phase of Ethereum requires more than technical research and coordination meetings. It requires visionary leadership - someone who understands not only the technology, but also its wider social, philosophical and political implications. This leader must inspire a new generation of builders, connect the technology to human needs, and navigate a complex political environment without compromising the idea of Ethereum.
