Powell: The Federal Reserve is watching Trump's new policies and will need time to analyze them
Fed Chairperson Jerome Powell told a news conference that it is too early to say what President Donald Trump's policies will do and that the central bank will take time to assess what the new government policy regime means. Fed officials are "waiting" for the new president to enact which policies. "We don't know what's going to happen with tariffs, immigration, fiscal policy and regulatory policy," he said. "We're going to be watching very closely what's being implemented. The Fed will not rush to develop a policy to [have time] to understand what our policy response should be." (Kim X)
