Chicago Fed urges caution on rate cuts

Chicago Federal Reserve President Goolsbee said the Federal Reserve must be cautious in cutting interest rates due to economic uncertainty. He noted in a radio interview that despite strong consumer spending and economic growth, there are concerns that inflation could rise again. Goolsbee stressed that fiscal decisions affecting prices and employment need to be carefully evaluated. He also warned that it could be difficult to distinguish inflation from temporary effects such as economic overheating and tariffs. (Kim Ten)
