The Ethereum network has raised the block gas limit for the first time under the PoS mechanism
The Ethereum network successfully raised the block gas limit for the first time under the PoS mechanism after gaining the support of more than 50% of validators. The data shows that the gas limit has broken through to 31.50 million from the previous 30 million and is expected to eventually be adjusted to 36 million.
This adjustment can be completed without a hard fork, providing support for network expansion. It is worth noting that the last gas cap adjustment of Ethereum occurred in 2021, when it was raised from 15 million to 30 million. Although the Dencun upgrade has improved network expansion performance, the gas cap adjustment is still necessary as the demand for DApps grows.
