Senate Banking Committee Chairperson Tim Scott expects crypto bill to pass within 100 days of Trump taking office
On Tuesday, White House artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency chief David Sacks held his first cryptocurrency-themed press conference, outlining legislative priorities and revealing the Trump administration's first major moves to regulate the fledgling industry: a market structure bill and a comprehensive stablecoin bill.
The event was attended by key leaders in the Senate and House of Representatives, with Senate Banking Committee Chairperson Tim Scott saying he plans to push the two key cryptocurrency bills through the Senate within 100 days of President Donald Trump taking office - less than three months from now. Scott added that a stablecoin bill introduced by Senator Bill Hagerty on Tuesday, the GENIUS Act, is likely to move forward first.
