Robinhood plans to launch crypto products in Singapore by 2025
On February 18, according to Bloomberg, Robinhood plans to launch crypto products in Singapore in 2025 through its acquired European digital asset exchange Bitstamp. The company plans to launch these services by the end of 2025 under the guidance of local regulators.
Robinhood acquired Bitstamp in June 2024 for $200 million, in part because of Bitstamp's license in Singapore, which would help Robinhood expand its business there. Bitstamp received approval-in-principle from the Monetary Authority of Singapore last year.
In addition, Robinhood also plans to expand its presence in the Asia-Pacific region in 2025 and further expand its footprint in the Asian market with a base in Singapore.
