Google is exploring the use of "Google Sign in" to log into bitcoin wallets

On February 19, Google Cloud Asia Pacific Web3 expert Kyle Song revealed in a speech at the Bitcoin Technology Carnival in Hong Kong that Google is working to make Bitcoin wallets as user-friendly as Web2 applications. Google's vision is to enable users to log in to Bitcoin wallets using existing Google accounts. The goal is to bring Bitcoin closer to mainstream users. The launch of the 2024 Spot Bitcoin ETF opens a more convenient path for large Web2 companies such as Google to enter the Bitcoin industry, Song said. The tech giant has been working with companies and developers in the Bitcoin space since last year. "We are exploring ways to lower the barrier to entry so that Web2 users can easily use Bitcoin," Song said. Speaking about bridging the technological gap between traditional finance and blockchain-based finance, Song noted that Google is focusing on security enhancements. "We are also working on solutions to address trust issues between on-chain and off-chain systems," Song said. "Google is looking specifically at how advanced cryptographic technologies such as zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) can be used to improve reliability." original link
