Trump officially announced that he will move forward with the tariff plan on Mexico and Canada as scheduled
On Monday (24th) local time, US President Donald Trump said that the US plan to impose tariffs on Mexico and Canada will "proceed as scheduled", after a month-long "moratorium" expires next week.
Asked at a White House news conference that day whether the delayed tariffs on the two US trading partners would soon come back into effect, Mr. Trump said that "the tariffs are on time and on schedule" and appeared to be moving "very fast".
Mr. Trump also claimed that the US was "taken advantage" of by foreign countries in "almost every respect" and "treated very badly" by many of its trading partners, not just Canada and Mexico.
