The total number of global cryptocurrency ATMs is expected to reach a new high this year
So far, 2,564 cryptocurrency ATMs have been installed in 2024, which is expected to cover the 2,861 that will be dismantled in 2023. Over the past 12 months, the global total number of cryptocurrency ATMs has surged by 17.8% to 38,279, approaching the record of 39,541 set in December 2022.
More than 82% of the world's cryptocurrency ATMs are located in the United States, while Canada is in second place with 7.7%. Installations in Australia have surged, increasing nearly 17-fold in the past two years to 1,107, and at the current rate of installation, Australia is on track to surpass Europe's 1,584 ATMs. Other countries and territories that have installed cryptocurrency ATMs include Spain (313), Poland (279), El Salvador (215), Germany (177) and Hong Kong (169). There are currently 72 countries and territories with cryptocurrency ATMs.
