Ethereum Foundation Fellow: One of the goals of the Pectra upgrade is to enhance the economic position of Ethereum, especially by promoting the adoption of "native Rollup"
In the Ethereum Foundation's latest semi-annual AMA, researchers responded to questions about Ethereum's scalability, Layer 1 revenue, and security.
EF researcher Justin Drake revealed that the first phase of the Pectra upgrade is expected to be rolled out in the coming months, with a focus on improving data availability. It is expected to significantly increase the number of blob transactions, from three to six per block, which is expected to greatly affect the blob fee market. Although there are calls in the Ethereum community to increase the blob "base fee", researchers at the Ethereum Foundation generally believe that this is a short-sighted idea.
Drake said: "I expect that in about 10 years, Ethereum's TPS will reach 10 million (about 100 transactions per person per day), and even at $0.001 per transaction, the daily revenue will reach $1 billion:) "
One of the goals of the Pectra upgrade is to enhance the economic position of Ethereum, especially by driving the adoption of "native Rollup", thus reducing the dependence of L2 solutions on Layer 1. Vitalik Buterin said that the goal of Ethereum is to maintain the neutrality of the network. The researchers emphasized that in the future as the network expands, the demand for data availability will exceed the supply, and future expansion schemes such as Danksharding will help to balance this gap.
In addition, EF also opened up a $2 million bug bounty to encourage the community to stress test the hard fork and ensure the security of the Pectra upgrade.
