Poll: Trump takes office for a full month, job performance approved by 44% of the public
President Donald Trump's approval rating has held steady over the past week, with 44 percent approving of his performance in his first month in office, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Tuesday. The survey found that Americans' views of Trump remained largely unchanged, even as he fired tens of thousands of federal workers and the United States reversed its attitude toward the conflict with Ukraine. Fifty percent were dissatisfied with his job, down slightly from 51 percent the week before, and within a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points, the survey showed. So far, public approval of Trump's job performance remains higher than for most of his first term in 2017-2021. The online poll of 1,029 American adults, conducted Friday through Sunday, also showed that 50 percent of respondents supported Trump's approach on immigration, up from 47 percent the week before. Another 42 percent said they did not support his immigration policies.
