On February 27th, China's Beijing Internet Court ruled that Mr. Sun Yuchen, a global consultant of Huobi HTX and founder of TRON, won a major lawsuit against Sina Finance for violating his reputation rights. The court ruled that Sina Finance's special feature "FBI Investigates Sun Yuchen!" and related reports constituted defamation and damaged Mr. Sun's reputation. The court asked Sina Finance to delete the infringing content, make a public apology, and pay a consolation fee for moral damage. It is reported that in March 2022, Sina Finance published a series of false reports against Mr. Sun Yuchen on its official website and multiple platforms without verification, including serious false allegations such as suspected insider trading, money laundering, and fraud, and maliciously misled the public under the special title "FBI Investigation of Sun Yuchen". Sina Finance failed to fulfill its reasonable verification obligations, causing serious damage to Mr. Sun's reputation.
