Tesla plans to launch a free Robotaxi in California
According to the Washington Post, Musk's Tesla (TSLA. O) is preparing to launch a Robotaxi service in California, which could eventually allow paying passengers to shuttle around the state in autonomous cars. Tesla submitted an application to the California Public Utilities Commission late last year to use its vehicles to transport passengers, according to an email. The company is currently approved to test driverless cars in the state, but with additional permits, people will be able to summon its taxis from Tesla for free.
