A US judge has blocked the Trump administration's call for mass firings by agencies
A federal judge in California on Thursday temporarily blocked the Trump administration from ordering the Department of Defense and other federal agencies to fire thousands of newly hired employees on a large scale. U.S. District Judge William Alsup in San Francisco said at a hearing that the Office of Personnel Management has no authority to order federal agencies to fire any employee, including probationary employees who typically have less than a year of work experience.
