U.S. officials say Ukraine may need a new leader

On March 3, local time on March 2, Waltz, the assistant to the US president for national security affairs, told the media that the United States hopes to broker a lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine, but it is not clear whether Ukrainian President Zelensky is ready for sincere negotiations. When asked if the United States wants Zelensky to resign, Waltz said that what the United States needs is a Ukrainian leader who can deal with the United States and Russia and ultimately end the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. If Zelensky's personal or political motives are clearly contrary to ending the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, then this is a serious problem. Johnson, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, also said in an interview on the same day that changes must be made, either Zelensky returns to the negotiating table in good faith, or someone else is needed to do it.
