Robinhood spokesperson: There are currently no plans to launch crypto derivatives
Previously, people familiar with the matter revealed that Robinhood Markets is considering launching cryptocurrency futures in the United States and Europe. It is reported that Robinhood Markets may also use the Bitstamp license to offer perpetual futures for bitcoin and other tokens in Europe. However, a Robinhood spokesperson told Bloomberg that there are no plans to launch crypto derivatives at this time. Robinhood's cryptocurrency business unit received a Wells notice from the Securities Exchange Commission in early May, but Robinhood remains committed to expanding its cryptocurrency business. The company's cryptocurrency trading volume increased by 224% in Quarter 1, 2024.
