European Union and US highlight cooperation on crypto regulation
The European Union-US Joint Financial Regulatory Forum was held last week, with participants conferring on topics of mutual interest as part of the regular financial regulatory dialogue between the two sides. The dialogue was hosted by the European Union Commission and the US Treasury. During the forum, participants discussed digital finance and crypto assets, with a focus on regulatory cooperation and the implementation of the European Union's Digital Operational Resilience Act and Crypto Asset Market (MiCA) Regulation. Both sides underlined the importance of international cooperation on issues related to crypto assets, including stablecoins, and stressed the need to continue to coordinate the Global Payment Agenda to support financial stability and market integrity.
