Tether may launch a new stablecoin specifically in the US domestic market

Tether may launch a new token specifically for the United States, and Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said in an interview that the company has been involved in discussions about U.S. stablecoin rules and may create a U.S.-only token, depending on how those discussions progress. Paolo Ardoino said that the Trump administration sees stablecoins as "an important tool for the United States," and if new rules are introduced to make stablecoins competitive, Tether may be interested in creating a "homegrown" stablecoin that would essentially be a "settlement currency."
