Japanese listed company Metaplanet has prepaid 2 billion yen bonds
Japanese-listed company Metaplanet has repaid bonds worth 2 billion yen ($13.50 million) in full ahead of schedule in an effort to shore up its finances, Cointelegraph reported. Metaplanet redeemed its Series IX ordinary bonds early on April 4, more than five months ahead of their maturity date, which the company disclosed on April 7. The zero coupon bonds were issued in March through Metaplanet's Evo fund to acquire additional bitcoin (BTC, priced at $78,509). The company said that since the bonds are zero coupon bonds, the repayment will not have a significant impact on the company's results for fiscal 2025.
