A federal court has ruled that Ledger must face consumer charges in the United States

Ledger SAS must respond in the US to consumer allegations that it misrepresented the security of its cryptocurrency "wallet" devices, a US federal court has ruled. U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Judge LaShonda A. Hunt said that although the contract for the sale of the Nano S and Nano X hardware devices refers to the application of French law, this reference is not exclusive, and the consumer's complaint does not depend on the application or interpretation of the contract, so the contract cannot limit the place where the consumer can sue. "SAS" is one of the types of companies commonly used in French companies. This corporate structure is similar to the "Limited Liability Company" (LLC) in the United States. It provides a flexible management structure and shareholder liability protection, and is usually used for small and medium-sized enterprises or start-up companies.
