Worldcoin suspends Spanish operations due to data protection investigation
The Spanish data regulator has announced that Worldcoin has legally agreed not to resume its activities in Spain until the end of this year. On June 4, the Spanish Data Protection Authority (AEPD) said that Tools for Humanity Corporation, the company behind human identity and financial network Worldcoin, will not resume collecting and processing data until the end of 2024 or the final resolution of the ongoing investigation.
The Bavarian state data protection authority Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA) is currently investigating the organization's handling of personal user data.
