South Korea's Ministry of Justice has announced that it will include "virtual asset crimes" in the scope of prosecutorial investigations

The Ministry of Justice of South Korea announced the enactment of the "Regulations on the Scope of Criminal Cases Filed by Prosecutors" to bring virtual asset crimes into the scope of direct investigation by prosecutors. South Korean prosecutors will directly investigate economic crimes, including crimes related to the "Virtual Asset User Protection Act". The bill aims to protect virtual asset users and came into effect on July 19. Violators can face imprisonment of more than one year or fines.
