MoonPay plans to expand in London

Ivan Soto-Wright, CEO of crypto payment infrastructure MoonPay, said in an interview that the US company expects to have more than 100 employees in its Spitalfield Borough office in London by next year. MoonPay currently has around 80 employees in the UK. MoonPay is expanding in the UK and plans to add more than 20 employees after opening its first office in the UK. Soto-Wright said MoonPay will mainly recruit engineers and compliance staff, adding that friendly regulations and easy access to skilled talent are among the main attractions of the UK. MoonPay, which had positive cash flow earlier this year, is applying for an e-money licence in the UK that would allow it to offer fiat currency accounts without intermediaries. While the company has no immediate plans to raise more capital, Soto-Wright says it is looking for acquisitions.
